El salón azul / the blue living-room

Absolutamente azul, azul-gris , mi color preferido. Ha habido una larga pausa, lo sé! Finalmente me he propuesto hacerlo porque lo que es terminado no esta . Ya veremos ...

I just love blue! It's my favorite colour. I know it's been a while since I've written, but I've been busy! At last, I decided to do it because it wasn't quite finished yet. We’ll see what happens!

Bien, pues esta es la ultima habitación interior de Lulihome . ahora  ya solo me quedan los exteriores .Parece mentira , que lejos queda aquel 1994 cuando recibí el paquete con las planchas  precortadas de madera ….. pero eso es otra historia que contaré cuando publique el exterior , 

So this is the last interior scene of Lulihome . Now , all I have left the exteriors .It seems incredible that far from 1994 when I got the big parcel with pre-cut pieces of wood .... but that’s another story I’ll tell you later  when I show you the exterior of Lulihome 

  

Os voy a ir explicando el paso a paso . Así estaba la estancia antes de hacer nada en ella. Como veis el gris de la estructura de las ventanas y esquineras me condicionó mucho el color.

I'm going to walk you through it step by step, okay? This is the room as it was before we got started. As you can see, the lovely grey-blue color at the windows and corners really set the tone for the final color, which is a beautiful blue.

Compré  una  cartulina para empapelarlo porque me gustaba el tono y aquí veis cuando empecé. También se aprecia que el techo esta apuntalado , es la mayor dificultad que encontré para hacer este salón : el techo tan grande y tan irregular ! me lo ha puesto muy difícil y al final he tenido que aplicar la máxima que alguien me dijo alguna vez :"Lo mejor es enemigo de lo bueno " y bajar el nivel de exigencia.

I fell in love with the shade of paperboard for wallpapering and just had to buy some! Here's a little peek at the beginning. You'll see that the ceiling is still being propped up. It's been the trickiest part of this room to work with: a ceiling that's so big and so irregular! It's been a bit of a challenge, to say the least! At last, I had to apply the saying that "the best is the enemy of the good," so I lowered my expectations a bit. Haha!

Primer techo puesto pero he llegado a ponerlo hasta 5 veces nuevo!!!!

Tengo una lampara empezada totalmente idea mía que no sé cuando la acabaré , probablemente nunca .. jajajaja ! así que compré esta y la transformé un poco .Yo quería una en tono metálico , cromado , vamos en color grifo y no la encontré , tampoco encontré pintura así . 

I've started a ceiling lamp, designed by me, but I'm not sure when it will be finished. It might never be, but that's ok! So I bought one and turned it into a silver-plated lamp. I would love to have a silver-plated lamp, but also a chromium-plated one, like a tap. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any paint.

Todavía estoy buscando tulipas para las luces-vela .Se me ocurrió esta idea con gomitas de auriculares , quedaba bien pero en este caso acentuaba la linea horizontal del espacio y ahora mejor, no .Pero la idea me parece buena , verdad ?

 I'm still on the hunt for some tulips for the lights. I came across this idea with the plastics of earphones, which looks really lovely but isn't quite what I had in mind. I'd rather not draw too much attention to the horizontal line of space. Anyway, the idea seems pretty good, don't you think?

                                    Hice los visillos de las ventanas con puntillas de algodón.

                                  I made some sheer curtains for the windows with cotton lace.

A veces cuando estoy trabajando me voy de una idea a otra ... y me puse a hacer copitas con botones antiguos de cristal y con abalorios de nácar 

Sometimes I work on different things at once. Here I made cups with antique crystal buttons and pearl beads.

                                              

Tapizando las sillas con distintos diseños , este de rayas no me convenció

Aquí probé tapizados y tono de mesa , era muy oscura. Como el suelo ya es madera me pareció demasiado

I tested more prints and noticed that the tone of the wood from the table seemed darker than I had expected, perhaps because the floor was also wood.

 La vitrina no me gustaba oscura, me parecía que quitaba luz , ya pensé en cambiarla a blanco .También pensé en poner doble altura al salón , en la zona de estar .

I didn't like the dark cabinet, so I changed it to white. I added a higher step to get double height in the living zone. 

Compre estos kits para montar de la mesa y  sillas  en un viaje a Madrid hace mucho tiempo.

I bought these unfinished  kits during a trip to Madrid years ago .

En esta habitación sí que no tenía nada planeado (sólo el color azul ;) ). Tenía mueblecitos acumulados de compras anteriores , de regalos, cosas de hace muchos, muchos 

años y quería aprovecharlos todos pues todos tienen su historia. Así que ha quedado una amalgama de cosas .

I had no plan for this scene. I had many old furniture pieces from earlier purchases and gifts from years ago. I wanted to use them all, so each piece has its own history. So it's been a mixed up scene !

                                                          

Vitrina no solo pintada en blanco sino también forrada en azules por dentro , con jarrones también azules hechos de botones de cristal antiguos.En el cajón servilletas y cubiertos.Quedó bastante más alegre, verdad ?

The cabinet has been painted in white and covered with blue paper, with blue jars made from antique crystal blue buttons. Inside the drawer, there is cutlery and napkins. The result is very lively, don't you think?   

Fijaos si compré  papeles pintados y ninguno me gustó !!!!!   :(

I've bought a lot of wallpapers recently, but none of them have really caught my eye. ;(

      Finalmente me decidí por esta antigua cinta de seda.

At least I took this antique silk ribbon 

Aquí veis un intento con papel azul dibujo "toile de jouy" que en un principio era la idea que más me apetecia poner ,  pero ... no !

Here's a try with blue paper "toile de jouy" that I initially thought was the best choice, but... no!

                      Los candelabros fueron una de mis primeras compras a una artesana de aquí

                 

The candlesticks were my first purchase from an artisan here.

El espejo lo hice de una manera muy fácil , está en este tutorial    y  creo que  le podéis sacar partido a la idea para que os quede mucho mejor que a mí, seguro .

I made the mirror in a very easy way , it is in this tutorial  I'm sure  you'll get better results than me .

y ahora os voy a mostrar algunas fotos mejores del salón.

Y este es el resultado por ahora porque faltan muchos detalles todavía . Yo  cada vez que lo miro lo disfruto .Ya veo mi casita casi terminada ... Sueño de niña desbloqueado !!! .No sé cuando lo terminaré , probablemente se quede así por mucho tiempo .Tengo que poner los cuadros y añadir mas cositas  que le den " vida" ;)

And this is the result so far, because there are still a few details to add. Each time I see it, I enjoy it even more. I just see my little house nearly finished, and it's all coming together! It's a girl's dream come true! I don't know when I'll finish, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. I need to add some pictures and more tiny things  to bring the scene to " life". ;)

Me gusta el juego de luces porque le da realismo a la escena 

I just love the way light plays on things. It makes everything look so real!
